Let's begin!

You can either drag and drop your image in Photoshop, or you can go to File > Open and select the image you want to edit. In this example, I dragged my photo into Photoshop to open the image.

There are many methods to remove a background, but for this project, we will use the Magic Eraser Tool by selecting it from the tool bar on the left or by using the keyboard shortcut (E). This method is best used on a simplistic image (e.g. logo) on a solid colored background; it is also important to note that once you erase the background, you will not be able to retreive it later. Using the Eraser tool, click on the part of the image that you want to remove. In this exercise, we are using a .png with a transparent background.

There are a couple of ways to do this step. In this example, I simply dragged a photo of a black photo into the canvas and resized it to fill the frame. Another way you can do this is to create a New Layer by selecting the ‘+’ icon at the bottom of the Layers panel as shown in the first photo. With the new layer selected, hit ‘shift’ and ‘delete’ to Fill the layer with a color by choosing ‘Color’ in the drop-down menu. In this exercise, we chose a black background.

After you’ve resized the background image, drag the layer (in your Layers panel) and place the background image underneath the logo.

Go to Edit > Puppet Warp to enable the puppet tool! Left-click to place points on your image, so you that you may drag parts of image; I dragged the point at the boxer’s wrist to extend his punch. When you are satisfied, hit ‘Apply’ to apply effect to the image.

Go to File > Export > Export As and save it as a .jpg to your computer.
