One of Dreamr's video editors, Jamar Marriott, shares how to use the Lasso tool to remove an object in Photoshop.

Let's begin!

You can either drag and drop your image in Photoshop, or you can go to File > Open and select the image you want to edit. In this example, I clicked the image in my Recent files.


After the Lasso tool is selected, use your cursor to draw around the object you want to remove from the photo. It doesn’t have to be perfect! Once you’ve drawn a circle around the object, it will select the object as you can see in the 2nd photo.


In the Edit menu, select “Content-Aware Fill...” to remove the desired object and use the brush tool on the left panel to delete (green) areas of the wood floor until you’re happy with the image.

After clicking ‘Okay’, Photoshop will bring you back to your original project file with the removed object still selected; to deselect, simply hold ‘cmd’ + ‘d’ to remove the moving dotted lines (aka marching ants!).

Go to File > Export > Quick Export as PNG and save it as a .png to your computer.
